BIRMINGHAM–This year’s 2014 Southern Automotive Conference was the largest to date with over 700 people in attendance. This year’s theme was “Geared For Growth.” Highlighted events including the presentation of results of the Southern Automotive Research Alliance study by the Center for Automotive Research (CAR) and panel discussion with Alabama Governor Robert Bentley and Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant.
An OEM panel was also conducted with Jason Hoff, CEO of Mercedes-Benz U.S. International in Vance; Jeff Tomko, president of Honda Manufacturing of Alabama in Lincoln; Jim Bolte, president of the Toyota Motor Manufacturing Alabama engine plant in Huntsville; and Donald Stoegbauer, director at Nissan North America in Canton, Miss. The panel was moderated by Bill Taylor, president of the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama .
