TVA certification primes Huntsville Mega Site for development

HUNTSVILLE, Alabama – Officials said today that a 1,252-acre site off Powell Road in Limestone County has been certified as a Tennessee Valley Authority Mega Site, positioning the location to compete globally for large-scale manufacturing projects.
To a site to receive TVA certification, it must be at least 1,000 acres, with interstate access, the potential for rail service, and utility service capable of serving a major manufacturing facility.

Boeing to create 70 Alabama jobs with expansion of PAC-3 program

Dozens of new jobs are coming to north Alabama next year as Boeing Strategic Missile & Defense Systems expands in Huntsville.
The company held a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday to kick off the construction of a new 28,000-square-foot building for Boeing’s Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) Missile Seeker program on 499 Boeing Boulevard near Port of Huntsville. The expansion will create about 70 full-time engineering and manufacturing jobs.
