Toyota Alabama – ‘engine capital of the world’ – marks 15 years

HUNTSVILLE, Alabama – Long known for rocket engine production, Huntsville is on its way to earning the title of “engine capital of the world,” thanks to the presence of Toyota over the past 15 years.
During that time, the Japanese automaker’s Alabama workers have built more than 4.5 million engines at its Huntsville factory, which is the only Toyota facility in the world that produces 4-cylinder, V6 and V8 engines under one roof.

Yulista to break ground on hangar, support facility at Alabama airport

Another company is expanding soon at the Madison County Executive Airport in Meridianville.
Yulista said it will break ground July 8 on a 60,000-square-foot aviation hangar and 20,000- square-foot support facility at the airport on 100 Bolling Road. The Yulista M5 Hangar should be fully operational a year after breaking ground and may double the company’s aviation workforce in the Huntsville/Madison County community.

Auto parts maker voestalpine chooses Birmingham for $11.1 million plant, 42 jobs

Austrian-based voestalpine Automotive Body Parts Inc. has announced plan for an $11.1 million facility in Birmingham, creating 42 jobs.
The company will produce stamped and hot-form parts for German automakers in the Southeast. The company is taking 52,360 square feet in the existing building at 260-A Lyon Lane in the Oxmoor Valley.
