Huntsville targets Dream Chaser landings as Sierra Nevada ties grow

HUNTSVILLE, Alabama – Huntsville International Airport is moving closer to a goal of becoming the first commercial airport that will be a landing spot for Sierra Nevada Corp.’s Dream Chaser spaceplane.

A project team is working to secure funding to conduct additional studies this year and to submit an application for a commercial landing license to the Federal Aviation Administration.

This follows a study last year that demonstrated the compatibility of landing the Dream Chaser on the airport’s existing runway and taxiway.

55 Alabama companies make Inc . 5000 list; see full national ranking

Fifty-five companies across Alabama are celebrating a major milestone today after the release of Inc. Magazine’s annual Inc. 5000 ranking.

To be named one of America’s 2016 fastest-growing businesses, each company had to be privately-held, for-profit and independent without subsidiaries or divisions of other companies and have a minimum revenue of $100,000 in 2012 and $2 million in 2015.
