Practical Energy General Session for Industry

Huntsville, Ala., – June 07, 2011—Summer is here and the heat, humidty, and your company’s utility bills are all rising to new highs.  Take a few hours next Friday, June 17th to attend a free Practical Energy General Session at UAHuntsville-ATN training facilities to learn about industrial best practices for the most commonly used industrial systems.

The session will provide low cost ideas with paybacks of greater than 20 to 1 that can be implemented immediately and commonly available energy assessment tools using hands on experience. Also details on how to contact other partners in industry who provide free or reduced training services regarding energy use.

Industrial systems covered during the 3-hour session include: lighting, motors, conveyors, compressed air systems, steam systems, chillers and cooling towers, boilers and hot water systems, heating and air conditioning (HVAC), particle/dust collectors and fans.

The June 17 Practical Energy Session is from 9 a.m. to noon, and is at no cost to attendees but does require pre-register – seating is limited.  The training site is the UAH-ATN offices, Shelby Center bldg, Room 154, on the UAHuntsville campus, 301 Sparkman Dr., Huntsville, AL , 35899.

The Alabama Technology Network and the Alabama Industrial Assessment Center are presenting a series of free webinars and workshops to provide information about energy assessments offered through Department of Energy funding.

Green Enterprise For Businesses Can Bring Bottom Line Results Huntsville, Ala., – May 17, 2011–The Green Enterprise Development Training Series – developed for  manufacturers by Purdue University and SME (Society for Manufacturing Engineers)  is being offered  for the 1st time in Alabama  on May 24th & June 6-10 and at no charge for training to AAMA members or State of Alabama Manufacturers (NAICS 31-33).
