Answer: Any of us in operations has likely experienced how tone deaf the accounting organization is to our notion of change on the shop floor, i.e. getting help with our CI journey when it involves the accounting function. Many an initiative has been stunted, if not totally derailed, because of the strong paradigms in accounting and active resistance by the CFO and the entire function.

Broetje Automation opens Mobile location to support Airbus plant

Broetje Automation, the latest original equipment manufacturer to support the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility, has set up shop officially at Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley.

Roger Wehner, executive director for the Mobile Airport Authority, said Broetje Automation’s M-Technologie division is starting small with a two-man operation and has taken the last available space in Brookley’s aerospace incubator, known as 2203.

“We are excited that our early commitment to an aerospace incubator at our campus once again proved to be of value to Airbus’s evolving supply chain. Our solution is low cost and flexible and we are prepared to support their growth,” he said.

Alabama company among top 500 franchises in Entrepreneur Magazine

A high performance protective coatings business in Huntsville is among Entrepreneur Magazine’s top 500 franchises of 2016.

LINE-X, which also specializes in automotive aftermarket accessories, recently ranked No. 223 on the 37th-annual list with more than 600 franchised locations in over 60 countries.

Less than two years ago, the Sparkman Drive company was featured on The Military Time’s “Best for Vets: Franchises 2014-15” list and in U.S. Veterans Magazine’s “2014 Top Veteran-Friendly Franchises” ranking.
