Estimate the economic impact of enterprises engaged in the life sciences industries located in North Alabama

Purpose
Estimate economic impacts in terms of dollars, jobs, and investments from the Life Sciences industry in north Alabama on the state’s economy over the past couple of years. Battle define Biosciences as: Agricultural Feedstock & Chemicals; Bioscience-related distribution; Drugs & Pharmaceuticals; Medical Devices & Equipment; Research, Testing & Medical Laboratories.
Components
Data will be gathered from the HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology and its affiliated companies.
Data from other life science-related companies will be collected.
No company specific data will be released.
Timeline
The project will be conducted and targeted for completion in the summer of 2017.
Results
The findings will be summarized in a report for the sponsor who will determine how it will be used. All report inquiries should be directed to the project sponsor.
