Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning

HVAC systems are large consumers of electricity in office buildings – often consuming 50% of the electricity used.  Attendees learn the importance of monitoring, adjusting, and controlling the HVAC system.  Participants learn how to select the appropriate temperature settings for their system.  In addition, participants learn to calculate the costs associated with heating and cooling areas of the facility and can show the payback for closing off various areas that are not used for production.  The importance of proper maintenance is discussed as well as the costs associated with failure to perform needed HVAC maintenance.  Attendees leave the training with several pages of HVAC improvement ideas, savings calculations, and examples that can be implemented.  This class ends with a demonstration of the impact of failing to maintain a system and the resulting increase in power consumption.
